The concert will present three emblematic works by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840–1893).
It will open with the Nutcracker Overture, Op. 71, the prelude to the beloved ballet The Nutcracker, and a hallmark of Tchaikovsky’s contribution to dance music.
Two other pieces are the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, Tchaikovsky’s only violin concerto, written in 1878, and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64.
Turkish conductor Orhan Salliel has conducted many Symphonic Orchestras in Turkey and abroad. He has also written internationally premiered works such as Trumpet Concerto (2019, published by Da Vinci) and Piano Concerto (2022).
