Nguyen Van Nam, who lives in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, reported experiencing the tremors while in his 15th-floor apartment at approximately 1.20 pm. "I could clearly feel the shaking, and some household items moved," he said.

Pham Manh Bach, residing on the 20th floor of a building in Hai Ba Trung District, noted that he felt three to four tremors, each a few minutes apart. "I have experienced mild tremors in Hanoi before, but this felt like the strongest earthquake I’ve ever encountered," he said.

On streets lined with office buildings, such as Hai Ba Trung, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, and Le Duan, many people and office workers rushed onto the pavements after feeling the tremors around 2 pm.

In HCM City, residents also shared their experiences of the earthquake. Minh Ngan, who was in her 10th-floor office in District 1, said she felt the room sway, with hanging lights and doors shaking at around 1.30 pm And the walls started to crack.

"I didn't think it was an earthquake at first, but as the tremors grew stronger, I panicked and rushed down the stairs. The lifts were already packed with people trying to evacuate," she recounted.

Speaking to Dantri/Dtinews on the afternoon of March 28, Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Geophysics, confirmed that a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar at 1.20 pm Hanoi time. The earthquake had a focal depth of approximately 10 km.

The United States Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred at around 12.50 pm local time (1.20 pm Hanoi time), approximately 16 km northwest of Sagaing, central Myanmar, at a depth of 10 km.

According to an AFP correspondent in Naypyidaw, the tremors damaged and deformed several roads, and ceilings collapsed in some buildings.

Myanmar's military government has yet to release information on casualties or damage caused by the earthquake.
