Situated in Ngo Tram Street in Hoan Kiem District, the coffee shop has a small space with just two or three tables and mainly provides takeaway drinks. Instead of a cashier counter, the shopfront is a solid wall with two holes.

Coffee here isn’t served in the usual way, instead customers get their drinks from the hand of a polar bear poking out through a hole.

Upon arrival, customers place their orders, using a tablet at the counter. If they need to speak with staff, they can use a small microphone or communicate directly through the hole.

The café’ attracts many foreigners.

Each day after school, primary students often stop by for photos and a quick game of rock-paper-scissors with the polar bear hand. A staff member explained that the bear hand can only display five fingers, so the kids always end up laughing as they are guaranteed to win every time.

Le Phuong Anh, 25, from Hanoi, said she happened to pass by and was immediately drawn to the sight of the adorable polar bear. “At first, I thought the bear’s hand would be rough and stiff,” she said. “But when I touched it, I was surprised by how soft it felt-almost like real fur. It was so realistic; I could hardly believe it.”

Nguyen Thanh Huyen, the coffee shop owner, said the café’s concept is quite unique, so the design and preparation took considerable time. “Even the bear glove had to be custom-made because the available ones didn’t match what I had in mind. I also had to import the glass cups as their specific size was difficult to find locally,” Huyen shared.

Huyen noted that the café’s outstanding drinks are the Vanilla Cold Brew Frappe and Mocha, both crafted from Vietnamese coffee beans combined with milk and fresh cream. Customers will first notice a subtle bitterness, which quickly gives way to a rich and creamy aftertaste, delivering a complete and authentic Vietnamese coffee experience.

All drinks come in glass cups, and paper bags replace plastic to support eco-friendly practices. However, the café may not be ideal for those seeking a quiet space to work or chat.

The café operates from 10 am to 10 pm, offering drinks ranging from VND40,000 (USD1.57) to VND125,000.
