Francophone Film Festival to delight Vietnamese audiences

French film lovers will have the opportunity to dive into the world of French cinema through the 15th Francophone Film Festival which is set to run from March 21 to March 27 in Hanoi.

The festival will present a total of eight films originating from Switzerland, France, Canada, Belgium, Morocco, Haiti, and others.

Several films honoured at international film festivals will also be screened at the event, including “Âm nhạc của tự do” (Haut et fort) of Morocco and “Cô bé Heidi” (Heidi) of Switzerland.

The function will see the presence of documentaries such as “Sống chung” (Cohabiter) of Canada and “Những người mang hy vọng” (Les porteurs d’espoir) of Canada.

In addition, the films “Mảnh khuyết” (Une part manquante) of Belgium and France; “Đêm đã qua” (Plumes) of France, Egypt, the Netherlands, and Greece; “Freda” of Haiti; and the cartoon “Sirocco và vương quốc Gió” (Sirocco et le Royaume des courants d’air) of France are all expected to give the audience a chance to discover fascinating stories and the cultural diversity within the Francophone community.

All films will be shown in French with Vietnamese subtitles and will be free for the public.

The festival is co-organised by the Group of Francophone Embassies, Delegations and Institutions (GADIF) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as part of cultural activities held on the occasion of International Francophone Day on March 20.
