Opened in 2016, the 106-kilometre DT701 Road connects Thuan Nam and Thuan Bac districts.

This route is popular with tourists as it passes through diverse landscapes. However, certain sections, including the stretch from Ca Na to Phan Rang, are prone to landslides, which pose safety risks.

The section between Phuoc Diem and Mui Dinh is in the same situation, with numerous sharp bends along cliffs.

Large soil and rock masses from above are prone to falling onto the road, especially during the rainy season.

Rocks tumbled onto the road on February 11.

The majority of utility poles along the road are rusted and damaged.
