The market, which operates every Saturday, showcases the products of both Laos and Vietnam.

A brocade stall at the market
Mookda from Sepon District in Savannakhet Province brought many traditional brocades from Lao ethnic groups to sell at the market.
She said this was her first time showcasing brocade at the market, but her stall attracted many customers.

Nguyen Truc Duong from Lao Bao Town said that the products at the market were made by the border residents themselves, including specialities from the Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic groups in Quang Tri and from Laos.
People from Sadenvan Village in Savannakhet Province, as well as those from the Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic groups, perform their traditional dances at the market.

Ho Hoa Mi from Dakrong District, Quang Tri Province, has prepared traditional dishes from her ethnic group, such as sticky rice and bamboo-tube grilled meat, to sell at the market.

Le Ba Hung, Chairman of the Lao Bao Town People's Committee, said local authorities want to develop the market as a tourist attraction.
Around 50 stalls have been set up at the market.
