The bomb was found underground at a construction site in Hong Gai Ward. It is 1.54 metres long and 27.4-centimetres wide.

Immediately after, the man reported the incident to local authorities, who promptly cordoned off the area.
By 3.30 pm on the same day, the military had relocated the bomb to the designated detonation site safely.
