At around 5.30 am on Monday, Phan Van Nuong, a resident of Lac Duong Town, saw the pangolin on a local road and took it to the district Forest Protection Department.

The animal weighing seven kilos is listed in Vietnam's Red Book and is prioritised for protection.
On the same day, the pangolin was handed over to the provincial Forest Protection Department for being released into the wild.
On December 2, the Bao Loc City Forest Protection Department in Lam Dong also received a 2.2-kilogramme Javan pangolin from a resident.
