On November 25, the Quang Ngai Border Guard Command found the three specialised metal tanks on the beach in Le Thuy Village in Binh Son District.
The cylindrical white tanks, measuring six by 2.5 metres, were washed ashore by waves.
According to the command, EQ Logis Company in HCM City has contacted Quang Ngai authorities to retrieve the tanks.
The firm explained that the gas tanks were transported by sea from Thailand to South Korea. Unfortunately, they fell overboard, and the shipping company was unaware of the incident.
EQ Logis assured that the empty tanks present no risk to people, vessels or the environment. It added that it would quickly complete the necessary procedures to prove the legitimate ownership right of the tanks.
