The department has assigned the Khanh Hoa Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Management Board to select contractors for various consultancy packages, including preparing pre-feasibility studies and environmental impact assessment reports.
The coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh Road running along Cu Hin Mountain often faces landslides
Under the proposal, the tunnel will begin near the Lo River in Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City, and end at Cam Hai Dong Commune in Cam Lam District. This route will provide an additional connection between Cam Ranh International Airport and Nha Trang City, passing through Cu Hin Mountain which is often impacted by landslides.
The project will help shorten the route from Nha Trang City to Cam Ranh International Airport by 10 kilometres compared to the coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh Road.
