According to a report from local police, residents in Dong Lac Commune found four people and a motorbike in an irrigation canal at 8.30 pm on November 24.
The four were quickly brought out of the water but three of them including a woman of over 40 years old, her 20-year-old son and his one-year-old baby were already dead. Meanwhile, the man's nine-year-old son was injured and was rushed to a local hospital.
The canal is four metres wide and three metres deep, and the water level was over one metre.
At the time of the accident, the six-metre-wide road was quiet and there was no lighting.
The accident is under investigation.
