​Two foreign tourists dead in Phan Thiet traffic accident

​Two foreign tourists have been killed in a motorbike traffic accident that occurred in the south-central province of Binh Dinh's Phan Thiet City on Saturday afternoon.

​According to a report from local police, the tragic accident happened when Aleksey Burygin​, 49​, was driving a motorbike carrying his 47-year-old wife Tatiana Burygin​,​ who were both Russian, on a coastal road from Phan Thiet to Mui Ne. His motorbike suddenly crashed into another motorbike driven by another foreign male tourist whose identity has not yet been confirmed at the ​Da Ong Dia Beach area.

The intense crash left all three tourists on the road. Aleksey Burygin​ died on the spot while his wife and the other tourist suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a local hospital. The other male tourist then died at the hospital due to serious injuries​.​

Phan Thiet Police are further investigating the cause of the accident.

​The coastal road connecting​ Phan Thiet City centre to Mui Ne stretches nearly 20 kilometres through beautiful beaches. The road is usually crowded with visitors including many foreign tourists​.
