The scene of the accident
Reports from local police said that the accident occurred at 10 pm on November 14 when a car driven by Ha Viet Hung, 43, was running at high speed and crashed into a motorbike and then a woman who was walking on the 5B Road.
"The woman was dragged dozens of metres on the road by the car and died on the spot from serious injuries," the police said. "The car, however, continued to run at high speed for another three kilometres and tailended a car running in front of it. The driver stopped after crashing into another motorbike parked on the pavement."
Fortunately, the other drivers avoided injury, but their vehicles were badly damaged.
Driver Hung tested positive for alcohol. He also failed to show his driving license.
