According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), budget carrier Vietjet Air led with 30,818 delayed flights, 37 percent of its total flights.

It was followed by the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, which had 14,212 delayed flights (17 percent); Bamboo Airways, with 2,250 flights (17.2 percent); Pacific Airlines, with 1,050 flights (28.3 percent); Vietravel, with 908 flights (18.5 percent); and VASCO, which had 793 flight delays (14.5 percent).
In the first nine months of the year, Vietnamese airlines conducted 194,027 flights. Vietnam Airlines offered 83,552 flights, Vietjet Air conducted 83,326 flights, while Bamboo Airways provided 13,064 flights.
The overall on-time departure rate for all local airlines from January to September overall was 74.2 percent.
The primary cause of flight delays was late-arriving aircraft. Late-arriving aircraft affect subsequent flights of the same airline and can also impact flights of other airlines at the airport.
