Staff from Vietnam Railway Corporation have returned nearly VND30 million to a passenger who somehow left the money on a Lao Cai-Hanoi train.
According to the train captain, Pham Thanh Hoa, as the train was arriving at the Phu Lu-Cau Nho Station on the evening of October 10, a staff member, Luong Ngoc Duc, came to clean the carriage 13 and found a wallet left on an empty seat.
"Duc immediately informed me of his finding and we sent a team to the carriage to check the wallet," Hoa said. "We found some Taiwanese and Vietnamese notes which together had a value of about VND28 million. There was also a Taiwanese passport with the name Chei Hui Mei."
The train staff then sent an announcement to all passengers and luckily the passenger who was the owner of the wallet was still on the train and came to receive her belongings back. She expressed her sincere thanks to the train staff for their support.
