According to the ministry, there have been rising cases in which people applying to work in the agriculture sector in South Korea were cheated by individuals and organisations that are not licensed to send workers abroad.
"Currently, 17 localities in Vietnam have signed agreements with different localities in South Korea to send people to work in the agriculture sector in the country," the ministry said. "Only the labour departments in these localities are authorised to carry out labour export procedures for this programme. Therefore, people are advised to contact the departments for information and procedures."
Citizens can also call the Department of Overseas Labour under the ministry at 0243.8.249.517 ext 301 and 302 for support regarding this programme.
Vietnam sent more than 78,000 workers abroad in the first half of this year, fulfilling 62.4 percent of the yearly target, the ministry said.
Japan, Taiwan (China), and the South Korea remained the largest recipients of Vietnamese guest workers.
Last year, over 159,000 workers went to work abroad, surpassing the yearly target by 33.3 percent, and the highest recorded over the past 10 years.
For 2024, the ministry aims to send 125,000 workers abroad, focusing on key traditional markets such as Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.
