The northern region of Vietnam would see a colder winter this year
Intense cold weather is expected to peak between November and December in northern localities with the region’s average temperature predicted to be 0.5 degrees Celsius lower than that of previous years.
Meanwhile, the country’s average temperature from November to December would be similar to that of previous years.
Between January and February 2025, the cold weather would further intensify, bringing about extreme cold phenomenon in many northern mountainous provinces such as frost, freezing temperatures and snow. This would badly impact people’s health and agricultural production activities.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned that cold spells would lead to powerful winds and high waves on the East Sea.
