Under the decision of the Hanoi Department of Transport, the bridge was closed from 10 pm on Tuesday.

The traffic police have provided alternative routes.

The Hanoi Department of Transport asked the Hanoi Traffic Police Division and the Transport Inspectorate to arrange staff for traffic flow management.

On Tuesday, the city banned heavier vehicles from Chuong Duong Bridge and closed Long Bien Bridge, both of which cross the Red River.

One day earlier, Hanoi shut Trung Ha Bridge, linking its outlying Ba Vi and Phu Tho Province district.

The water level of the Red River has been forested to reach its peak at midday today, September 11. Thousands of people living by the river have been evacuated.

Hanoi continues to face heavy rain.
