The country’s National Day holiday lasted four days this year, beginning August 31.

During the holiday, the average accommodation rate was estimated at 56 percent, a rise of 1.85 percent on-year.

HCM City attracted 980,000 tourists, up 2 percent on-year, followed by Hanoi with 672,900 tourists, up 5 percent on-year.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, 58,900 of the figures were foreign arrivals, up 35.8 percent on-year, with the majority from India, South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the US, and the UK.

The capital recorded a total tourism revenue of VND2.18 trillion (USD87.21 million), up 8.3 percent on-year. Hanoi’s hotel room occupancy rate reached 61.2 percent, up 1.7 percent on-year.

The runners-up are Haiphong, with 580,000 (up 2 percent); Khanh Hoa, with 578,219 (up 2 percent); Ba Ria-Vung Tau, with 555,984 (up 4 percent); Quang Ninh, with 455,000 (up 19 percent); Thanh Hoa, with 395,700 (up 20.4 percent); and Binh Thuan, with 385,000 (up 3.3 percent).

On this occasion, as many as 4,250 flights were conducted, up 3.5 percent from the same period last year. The railway sector served 130,000 passengers, up 10 percent year over year.
