According to a Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board representative, the lake is a tourist attraction in the capital city, and demand for public toilets is high.
The district people's committee has directed concerned agencies to check public restrooms in the area, particularly around Hoan Kiem Lake, to identify issues and develop renovation plans.
Initially, the district invested VND1.6 billion (USD64,000) to upgrade the toilets on Le Thai To Street, including installing a lift, arranging one more room for people with disabilities, and providing a changing room for children. The toilet has been tiled, and sanitary fixtures have been replaced.
The district will continue inspecting public toilets.
