In July, Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Pacific Airlines, VASCO, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines operated 24,749 flights, up 2,290 flights from June.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines ran 11,066 flights, followed by budget carrier VietJet Air with 10,551; Bamboo Airways (1,423 flights); Pacific Airlines (339 flights); VASCO (709 flights) and Vietravel (661 flights).

As many as 9,114 flights were delayed in July, accounting for 36.8 percent of the total flights, compared to 30.7 percent in June.

VietJet Air had the highest delayed flight rate, 55.7 percent, followed by Bamboo Airways, 23.8 percent, Vietnam Airlines, 23.4 percent, Pacific Airlines, 21.2 percent, Vietravel Airlines, 19.2 percent, and VASCO, 16.2 percent.

In July, airlines flocked to conduct more flights to meet the higher travel demand of passengers.

Problems related to weather, air traffic management and airport equipment and services were seen as the major reasons blamed for the delayed flights.

In the month, 116 were delayed, accounting for 0.5 percent.

In the first seven months of this year, the on-time flight rate was 73.7 percent, and the delay rate was 26.3 percent. VietJet Air witnessed the highest rate of delayed flights, 37.6 percent, followed by Pacific Airlines 32.6 percent, Bamboo Airways 17.9 percent, Vietnam Airlines 17.1 percent, and VASCO 16.2 percent.
