The incident happened at around 10:30 this morning, August 8, on National Highway 12 running through Le Loi Commune.

At that time, the man was operating the excavator from National Route 12 into a nearby quarry.
The victim was 36 years old from Dien Bien Province.
After the accident occurred, the authorities arrived at the scene to retrieve the victim’s body and handle the landslide debris.
National Highway 12 links Dien Bien and Lai Chau often struggles with landslides during the rainy season.
