According to a report from local authorities, the accident occurred on National Road 14 in Cu Mgar District at 8.30 pm when a truck carrying durian crashed into another truck running in front of it.

The intense crash left the durian truck driver, Phan Van Chien, 25, and another man, Nguyen Xuan Vu, 47, dead in the cabin.

Another man, Pham Van Hao, 39, on the other truck died while being transported to the hospital.

Three other people in the truck hit by the durian-carrying truck are in hospital being treated for serious injuries.

The VND575 billion National Road 14 spans 26 km from Pong Drang Commune in Krong Buk District to Cuor Dang Commune in Cu M’Gar District.
