According to consulting units, the port would cover 120 hectares in Vung Tau City, including a passenger terminal, duty-free shops, offices, a marina and parking areas. The port could serve ships of 225,000-228,000 GT.

The wharf is linked to the shore by a 700-meter-long bridge. A seaplane dock is arranged on the eastern and southeastern sides of the port.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau international passenger port is expected to be the largest of its kind in the southern region.

Once put into use, the port will serve as a hub for community activities and host major events for the province as well as the southern region.
