The pavements are primarily located in the An Van Duong Urban Area, which has a total area of eight kilometres. They have been partially painted green or yellow to be easily identified.
Depending on their width, each pavement will have one or two bicycle lanes. These lanes are painted green with yellow borders and are located on the inner side of the pavement.

Le Thanh Bac, deputy head of the Hue City Green Urban Project Management Board, said that Hue had become the first city in Vietnam to have bicycle lanes on pavements.
Every morning and late afternoon, the bicycle lanes in Hue attract many people.
According to Bac, allocating part of the pavement for bicycles can help turn Hue into a green and eco-friendly city.
Thua Thien-Hue is not stopping here. The city has ambitious plans to create priority lanes for bicycles on main roads and highways and to set up bike parking areas and racks in public places soon.
