The nine mines, with a total capacity of 3.4 million cubic metres, are set to play a crucial role in the development of the Can Tho-Ca Mau and Chau Doc-Can Tho-Doc Trang expressways and some other key infrastructure projects.

Tan Binh 2 sand mine has the largest capacity, 1.12 million cubic metres, followed by Chanh An with 924,140 cubic metres, Phu Thanh 1-Dong Phu with 603,375 cubic metres, Binh Hoa Phuoc 2 with 596,778 cubic metres, Phu Thanh 2 with 434,720 cubic metres, and Luc Si Thanh with 441,750 cubic metres.

Meanwhile, the southern province of Soc Trang is awaiting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's approval for sand extraction offshore for highway projects.

Soc Trang has invited 29 provinces, cities, and investors to register their demand for sand for highway projects.
