As reported by the local online newspaper The Nation, so far this year, it has recorded 13,057 COVID-19 patients and 93 fatalities. Of the total admissions, 501 developed lung inflammation and 187 were put on ventilators.
A spike in COVID-19-related hospital admissions and deaths among at-risk groups was noticed since the country’s Songkran holiday from April 11-15.
The public has been advised to resume standard preventive practices of frequent hand-washing, avoiding crowded areas and wearing face masks in heavily populated places./
