By 2040, Nha Trang’s population will increase by 250,000 to 750,000 people.
The plan is to leverage the city's brand as a coastal resort destination through upgrading the tourism infrastructure and diversifying tourism products.
Nha Trang City is targeted to be the centre for science, technology, education and training, healthcare, tourism and financial services for southern central and Central Highlands regions.
The city is oriented to have 14 areas with coastal urban areas to be the centre and those along the south of the Cai River, and the old Nha Trang Airport.
