The project will upgrade the section running through Khe Net Pass in the central province of Quang Binh’s Huong Hoa District. It will focus on building two tunnels, three bridges, one station and seven kilometres of railway.
This is the first railway project in Vietnam using Official Development Assistance from the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund and reciprocal capital from the Vietnamese government.
Vietnam’s railway network runs through 34 cities and provinces with a total length of 3,143 kilometres, including 1,726 kilometres on the North-South route.
VND7 trillion has been arranged for key and urgent railway projects during the 2016-2020 period.
