A dead turtle with a large crack on its shell was found on the Bai Sau Beach in Vung Tau City on March 21.
The turtle, which was about 60 centimetres long weighing 40 kilos, was found by an environmental worker after drifting onto the Bai Sau Beach. It had a large crack on its shell which was still bleeding.
According to some locals, the turtle might have been hit by the propeller of a ship operating in the area.
Local authorities are investigating the incident.
In September last year, an 80-kilo turtle also died from injuries after being hit by a ship's propeller.
