A train route linking the central cities of Danang and Hue serving tourists is scheduled to be opened on March 26.
Representatives from Thua Thien-Hue Province’s authorities worked with Vietnam Railway Corporation on the service.
According to Hoang Hai Minh, vice chairman of the provincial board people’s committee, the locality conducted a survey to gather opinions from over 400 passengers and residents on service quality on the route.
Dang Sy Manh, General Director of Vietnam Railway Corporation, said that the service would offer passengers opportunities to see mountainous landscapes andcoastal areas, especially the area through Hai Van Pass.
Travel time from Hue to Da Nang by train takes from 3.5 hours to four hours, however the trains run into the centre of the two cities, making it convenient for passengers, especially tourists.
Tourists can take the train and stop at rural and lagoon destinations such as Huong Thuy, Cau Hai, Truoi, Thua Luu and Lang Co in Hue.
