The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting predicts two cold spells and rainy conditions for Vietnam's northern region.

The first cold spell will hit the area from February 22 to 24, bringing temperatures down to 15-17 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous regions experiencing temperatures below 12 degrees Celsius. Light rain will accompany this cold front across the north.

Concurrently, from February 23 to 24, the northern central areas will experience heavy rain, hail, and strong winds. A subsequent cold wave is set to sweep through the northern region starting February 27.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the period from February 21 to March 20 will see temperatures in Vietnam 0.5-1.5 degrees Celsius higher than the same period last year, with rainfall of between 5-15 mm below the average of previous years. In contrast, the Central Highlands and southern regions are currently facing drought conditions.
