HCM City streets jammed on Tet

Many streets in the centre of HCM City were severely congested on the evening of the third day of the Lunar New Year.

 

From 5:30 pm, city centre such as Ton Duc Thang, Hai Ba Trung and Dong Khoi, were overloaded with traffic leading to traffic jams.

 

The congestion on Ton Duc Thang Street was from the Ba Son Bridge to Khanh Hoi Bridge in District 1.

It took buses and cars 30 minutes to escape the 1.5-kilometre traffic jam.

The intersection of Dong Khoi and Ton Duc Thang streets is a bottleneck with a high concentration of vehicles.

Lots of people had to travel on pavements to avoid the jams.

At 7:30 pm, roads remained jammed.
