
Tay Ho Temple in Hanoi saw large crowds on the early morning of February 10.

Nguyen Thi Mua from Ba Dinh District said that she visits pagodas and temples on the first day of the lunar New Year to pray for good luck every year. "It has become a tradition for many people, especially Buddhist followers," she said. "We joined many people to come to the Tay Ho Temple right after watching the firework display at Hoan Kiem Lake."

The Quan Su Pagoda in Hoan Kiem District was also very crowded at 1 am on February 10.

Ho Tuan Duy, 28, and his girlfriend Nguyen Hong An, 27, said that they came to the pagoda to pray for good health, wealth, and happiness.

Many pagodas in HCM City also received thousands of visitors on the first day of the 2024 Lunar New Year.

Nguyen Quoc Viet, 34, said that his family has kept a tradition of visiting pagodas for over a decade. "We live near Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and so we usually come here to pray for health and peace," Viet said. "We like the peaceful atmosphere at pagodas."
