Police operating in Quang Trach district, the central province of Quang Binh, said on January 22 that they successfully arrested a local woman named Le Thi Diem My, who is currently wanted by Interpol, immediately after she landed at Noi Bai International Airport.

According to details of the arrest, My, 30, residing in Canh Thuong village of Canh Duong commune in Quang Trach district, was wanted in relation to a gambling case on January, 2021. She had previously fled from her place of residence right after the police commenced criminal proceeding against her.

In order to promptly arrest her, police issued a nationwide arrest warrant and also asked Interpol to issue an international warrant for the Vietnamese citizen.

Police were able to discover My’s return following a tip off from a private source. Following this, the police apprehended the suspect as she arrived at Noi Bai International Airport from Japan on January 19.

The case is currently under further investigation.
