The announcement was made at a Friday meeting by Head of the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee, Truong Viet Dung.
According to the official, the city will organise a light and sound performance which aims to set a Southeast Asian record with the participation of 2,024 unmanned aerial vehicles on Lunar New Year's Eve to welcome the Year of the Dragon, 2024.
"We're considering two venues for this event, either West Lake or My Dinh National Stadium," the Hanoi official said. "This showcase is scheduled to take place before the fireworks display, roughly from 11 pm to 11:30 pm, and will be broadcasted live on Vietnam Television."
In celebration of the Lunar New Year 2024, Hanoi will also host 32 fireworks display locations across the city on Lunar New Year's Eve, including nine locations featuring high-altitude fireworks, with 600 fireworks at each site.
