Surveillance had previously detected a group of people transporting drugs from Laos into Ky Son district of Nghe An before then transferring them to other northern provinces for distribution and consumption.Tipped off by agents, the police launched an operation to break up the ring. They simultaneously inspected and discovered that the masterminds behind the ring were Xong Ba Tong, 30, and Xong Ba Da, 24, residing in Na Ngoi commune of Ky Son district.
On January 17, the two suspects were caught red-handed carrying a huge amount of drugs to sell to dealers in Hanoi.
