According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the temperatures of the northern low-land areas and northern central localities from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An provinces will fall to between 16-18 degrees Celsius from January 10 while it will be colder in the northern mountainous areas with temperatures falling to between 13-15 degrees Celsius. Some mountain peaks would experience temperatures of below 10 degrees.

The East Sea including the Paracel and Spratly islands would see strong winds and high waves rising to 2-4 metres from Wednesday afternoon.

The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue has just sent dispatches to coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Kien Giang to closely watch for updated information about this cold front and prepare for rescue activities.
