The Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (Saratrans) has added 3,000 seats to serve higher demand on the coming Tet Lunar New Year.
According to Saratrans, the added tickets will be for trains from Hanoi to HCM City and those from Quy Nhon and Quang Ngai stations to Saigon Station. More carriages will also be added for the trains to increase seats.
Specifically, train service SE32 will run from HCM City to Hanoi on January 24-25 and train service SE11 will travel from Hanoi to HCM City on January 26-27. Meanwhile, on January 20-21, train service SE25 will run from Quang Ngai to Saigon and train service SE29 will run from Quy Nhon to Saigon.
Saratrans reported that more than 22,000 train tickets were sold between December 27 and January 4, raising the total number of tickets sold for Tet to 152,000.
By late December, Saratrans had provided 3,000 more seats for return train services from HCM City, Di An, Bien Hoa to Quang Ngai and Hanoi.
The railway sector is offering different promotions for passengers, including a 3 percent discount for trains departing from Saigon Station on February 8, 2024 and travelling a distance of more than 1,000km or more.
Passengers purchasing round-trip tickets will enjoy a discount of 5 percent, meanwhile, students can buy tickets which are between 10-20 percent cheaper than usual.
