According to the Kien Giang Province Port Authority, the local sea has experienced strong wind and high waves since December 22.
They have halted ferry and speedboat services between Phu Quoc and Rach Gia, Nam Du, and Ha Tien until further notice. Boat and ferry tickets that have been purchased can be returned or rescheduled.
As of 4am on December 22, the southern coast saw strong wind and high waves of between 2-6 metres high, according to the Southern Region Hydro-Meteorological Centre
This bad weather is forecasted to affect the area in the next 48 hours.
