China’s Sichuan Airlines started operating the first flight from Sichuan’s Chengdu City to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Friday.

Flight 3U3905 landed at Noi Bai International Airport at around 3:30 pm.

The Chengdu-Hanoi air route will have one daily return flight, using the Airbus A320/A321. It takes around two hours to fly from Chengdu to Hanoi.

Sichuan Airlines has expanded its flight network to the domestic market and many Asian, North American and Oceania countries.

Sichuan Airlines was the third international airline to launch flights to Hanoi this year behind Starlux Airlines and Xiamen Airlines. It is also among six airlines connecting Hanoi and China.

Zhang Chang Heng, chief representative of Sichuan Airlines in Hanoi, said that the Chengdu-Hanoi air route will help Vietnamese visit Sichuan tourism destinations.

On Friday, Vietnam Airlines also launched the first direct flight from the Australian city of Perth to HCM City.
