Quang Nam has been facing heavy rain over the recent days, causing landslides in many areas. A section of Road DH8 running from Tra Doc Junction to the centre of Tra Bui Commune in Bac Tra My District has seen up to 10 landslide spots. As a result, over 500 households in Tra Bui Commune have been left isolated. Some areas in the commune have faced power cuts.

Road DH8 is the only route to Tra Bui Commune, however, the severe landslide has temporarily prevented access. Another choice is travelling through Song Tranh Hydropower Plant’s reservoir, but it is quite dangerous in case of sudden floods.

Bac Tra My District has witnessed 20 landslide spots, resulting in traffic congestion on Dong Truong Son Road and National Highway 24C.

To date, roughly 1,100 households in Bac Tra My with 3,790 people are at a high risk of struggling with landslides.

Torrential rains have been forecasted to end in Quang Nam in the next two days.
