The boat is owned by Pham Van Dong, 40, from Ha Tien Town. According to Dong, at around 1:45 am on November 8, while operating off the southern province of Ca Mau, his boat was attacked by a group of people on two other boats.
The strangers used Molotov cocktails and improvised firearms with buckshot to shoot at three fishermen.

Two fishermen were injured in their legs and one was injured in his face.
Ten minutes later, the group left the fishing boat. Due to the darkness, the fishermen could not recognise the attackers.
Local authorities are investigating the case.
