Visitors who stay overnight in the four districts of Dong Van, Yen Minh, Meo Vac, and Quan Ba on the Dong Van Karst Plateau will pay VND30,000 for adults and VND15,000 for children.
People with disabilities or over 70 years old, and children under six will be exempted from the fee while children between 6-15 will be charged half.
The money would be used to improve infrastructure and fund conservation efforts.
Ha Giang targets to receive 1.80 million visitors in 2024 and earn some VND48 billion in ticket collection at the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Stretching over 2,356 square kilometres in four districts, Quang Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Meo Vac, Dong Van Karst Plateau has towering limestone formations, jagged cliffs and captivating karst peaks.
In September, UNESCO re-recognised Dong Van Karst Plateau as a member of the UNESCO Global Geopark network for the third time.
