Vo Nguyen Giap Highway is opened to traffic on October 30 in Dak Lak Province.

The VND 1.24 trillion, seven-kilometre road took eight years to complete due to obstacles in site clearance work. This was Buon Ma Thuot City’s largest road project so far and it connects Buon Ma Thuot Airport to the city centre.

Speaking at the road opening ceremony on October 30, the Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee, Vu Van Hung, noted that this was the largest road built in the city so far and the main road system linking the east and the west of the city.

"The road will help shorten the route from Buon Ma Thuot Airport to the city centre by seven kilometres, reduce traffic on some central streets, and broaden the city space," Hung said. "It will also facilitate the development of a new urban area in the southeast of the city."
