
Ngan Mo River runs through Cam Due Commune in Cam Xuyen District. The river has been struggling with erosion for many years and the problem has worsened since 2020.


Cao Anh Tu, 67, from Phuong Tru Village, said his family was always worried when it heavily rained. His trees have even been swept away.

Cao Nam Tinh, 60, another local resident, said chicken coops and the wall of his family’s garden had been swept away by flood waters.

According to Vo Ta Ky, chairman of Cam Due Commune, at least 50 households have been affected by erosion. The locality has temporarily consolidated eroded areas, but in the long run, it is necessary to build dykes.

According to the Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the central region of Vietnam has continued experiencing torrential rains. The region would experience rainfall of 50-150mm between October 23-24.
