Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper presents mooncakes and scholarships to disadvantaged students in Thai Nguyen Province on the Full Moon Festival on September 28.

On the evening of September 28, representatives from the newspaper and local authorities visited and celebrated the Full Moon Festival with children in Phu Luong District.

The ceremony saw the attendance of vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Council for Ethnic Affairs Nguyen Lam Thanh, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Council Pham Hoang Son, Head of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Economic Committee Hoang Van Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, Nguyen Xuan Toan, among others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, Nguyen Xuan Toan said that he was very happy to see local disadvantaged children enjoying the Full Moon Festival.

"This is a very meaningful event which gives children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, a joyful time," Toan said. "On this occasion we would like to give 2,000 mooncakes and 100 scholarships worth VND490 million donated by our readers and some other organisations to encourage them to try harder in their lives and studies."

Earlier on September 22, representatives from the Vietnam Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, singer Den Vau, and Khai Minh Communications and Technology Company came to Dantri’s offices in Hanoi to donate 5,000 mooncakes worth VND1.10 billion to children in difficult areas.

The cakes have been taken by the newspaper to disadvantaged children in the mountainous provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, and Thai Nguyen.
