Two Indian sailors suffering from serious burns have been rescued off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

On Wednesday morning, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC) received a call for help from a Marshall Island-flagged ship named Bfad Southern which was on the way from Singapore to China. Around 175 nautical miles off Vung Tau City, two Indian crew members on the ship had an accident, leaving them severely burnt.

Right after being informed, Vietnam MRCC instructed the HCM City Coastal Information Radio to send rescue ship SAR 272 along with a doctor and a nurse.

This morning, September 7, ship SAR 272 rendezvoused with the Bfad Southern and transported the two sailors ashore.

The two men are now being treated at FV Hospital in HCM City.
