The event which will take place at the Independence Palace is also aimed to mark International Chef Day, October 20.
According to the HCM City Tourism Association, a second volume of the Vietnamese Food Map with 126 special dishes from 63 provinces and cities nationwide will be announced.
The first phase of the Vietnamese Food Map was announced at the same event held last year.
There will be 100-120 booths displaying dishes of localities at the festival.
There will also be music performances and cooking lessons at the event.
This is a chance for visitors to enjoy the food specialties of Vietnam, including those cooked by chefs at HCM City’s five-star hotels.
Travel firms that bring tourists to the festival will be offered promotions.
The festival is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.
The Vietnamese Food Map will include 189 typical dishes after this event.
