The information was given by Puripan Bunnag, Senior Vice President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau at a business forum held by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau in HCM City on Thursday.

Vietnamese tourists at an exhibition in Thailand this year.
According to Bunnag, since early this year, MICE travellers from Vietnam have accounted for roughly 10 percent of the total number of Asian MICE tourists to the country during the time.
Thailand has set a goal to attract 15,000 more MICE tourists from Vietnam by the end of this year, he added.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Thailand served 1.50 million MICE tourists per year. But, after the pandemic, the figure has dropped to 750,000 annually.
At the forum, he expressed how impressed he was by Vietnam’s economic growth of 8 percent last year. He added that the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau considered Vietnam as a key partner for cooperation.
This year, Thailand will hold dozens of exhibitions and fairs in various areas, which would be good opportunities for Vietnamese businesses.
